After 17 years as an informal association, Winchester Community Choir  became a registered charity in 2022. We had to tell the Charity Commission what we were all about and we said two things:

• SINGING

• Raising FUNDS FOR GOOD CAUSES

Both are equally important to us and over the years (as an association and recently as a charity) we have raised over £45,000 which we have given in grants to other (mainly) local charities.

We ask our members to nominate charities to benefit from our summer and Christmas concerts each year and the list shows the breadth of our members interests and concerns: supporting the homeless, helping asylum-seekers, music charities, children with health needs, riding for the disabled, the historic churches trust, people with learning disabilities and autism.​
