Roger Watson's score is in four parts (Tenor, Alto, Air and Bass). There are five verses.
The lyrics are very slightly adapted from a poem Homeward by Cicely Fox Smith (1882-1954) and published in 1916. The poet lived in Hampshire for much of her life. The melody is by Sarah Morgan (1948-2013), from her songbook Put the Stars to Flight (Lyngham House, 2004), available at the Winchester Community Choir Store.
