A song of American and French-Canadian fur traders on the Missouri River. The Oneida chief Skenandoa who supported the English against the French in the Seven Years War (1756-1763), would not allow his daughter to see a French trader who had fallen in love with her. By the mid-1800s the song became a sea shanty, sung by sailors around the world.
This is a previously unpublished arrangement.
